Water and Waste

Environmental Geoscience Services

We provide specialist environmental geoscience services, focusing on environmental geochemistry, an important consideration for the management of potentially hazardous mine wastes and waters. We have experience primarily in mining but also in the assessment of contaminated land and water related to other industries and power generation.

Our comprehensive skillset enables us to assist our clients with all geochemical aspects of mine waste and water management, relating to waste rock, open pits, pit lakes, underground workings, groundwater, surface water, and process and water treatment wastes.

Using these skillsets, we are able to assist our clients in various capacities. These include assistance with feasibility studies, approvals, mine closure planning, water- and waste-related problem solving at mining operations and remediation. We are also experienced in planning and execution of short-term and long-term monitoring programs, from installation of groundwater wells to implementation of advanced sampling techniques, with associated data processing, reporting. We also provide support in the design and implementation of technical solutions.

Other experience includes mineral exploration and on-site environmental management, which provides us with a comprehensive view of geological context and the mining lifecycle, enabling us to assist in these capacities as well where necessary.

In association with clients, regulators and technical partners, Terrachem aims to integrate excellent mine-water and waste management principles into operational practice and planning, to minimise environmental risk and improve operational efficiency.
